Guide to Stripe for Monetising Your Network

What is Stripe?

Stripe is a secure payment platform that lets you charge a fee for EV users' sessions on your Charge Point Operator (CPO) network.
How It Works 
  • Once integrated with the VEV-IQ Platform, customers add their payment method via the app
  • Charging session costs are calculated and collected after each session
  • As a CPO, you can view all invoices for sessions on your network

Create a Stripe Account
  1. Visit the Stripe website and click 'Start Now'
  2. Complete the required information
  3. Validate your account via the confirmation email
  4. Click 'Activate your Stripe account'
  5. Fill in the sections for Business structure, details, representative, and bank information
  6. Enable two-factor authentication (e.g., via SMS)
  7. If you don’t have a business website, provide a link to your social media
 
Set Up an Invoice Template
  1. In Stripe, go to the 'Invoice Template' section
  2. Customise the template and define your invoice numbering strategy
  3. Add necessary business and tax information
  4. Use the 'Default Memo and Footer' sections to include mandatory business information for your country

The Business website section is mandatory - if you do not have one you can add the link to your LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram page.

The Product Description section is mandatory - briefly describe your business (for example: We are an electric vehicle charging point operator).
